About The Cauldron
The Cauldron began in 1996 as a black and white, 30-page publication, created by the then chair of the humanities division at Holy Cross College, Associate Professor of English John Raymer. In the years since, The Cauldron has ranged from 40-100 pages, its release always coinciding with Arts Day, HC’s annual celebration of music, drama and the visual arts.
Past editions of The Cauldron serve as a window for understanding the evolution of the arts at HC and the people who have left their mark. Art professors Br. Harold Ruplinger, C.S.C., and Fr. Mark Ghyselinck, C.S.C., had editions dedicated to them when they left HC. This current edition, which for the first time will be in the format of a Web-based journal, reflects HC’s commitment to the integration of technology in academics, campus life and the arts.
Although many students, staff and faculty contributed to the creation of this Web-based edition, the following people are deserving of special thanks: Instructor Angela Michielutti and the students in her graphic design course, Br. John Tryon, C.S.C., and the students in his creative writing class and Director of Student IT Services Douglas Blair.
